Boo To You. It's Mickey's Not So Scary...

BOO! Did I scare ya???

I scared Max. Look at how fast he is trying to run away. You can barely see him he is so blurry!
Of course not! Because there is nothing remotely scary about me and my scarecrow costume. However, that is what my mom chose to dress me as for Halloween this year. I know what you're thinking. Halloween? Isn't only the middle of September? Yes, you would be correct, but this weekend we went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party with our cousins from Jacksonville. With the party you are allowed required to dress up as you trick-or-treat through the Magic Kingdom. My Mom, in all her wisdom, thought I would be oh-so-cute as the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz. I, personally, felt that it was a bit embarrassing at first, but I was proven wrong over...and over.... and over again by all the random strangers at the MK who kept commenting on how cute I was. I guess Mom was right after all. She said it's time I realize that now. If I do, life will be much easier for me.

We spent the evening running around (Who am I kidding? The adults ran, I was pushed in my stroller. Yes, I have it made.) the Kingdom riding rides and getting candy. Of course, we had to take the obligatory pictures first. My cousin Jennifer is as obsessed with cameras and pictures as my Mom is, so you can only imagine what that means. There was no fighting pictures when you have 2 cameras pointed at you. At least I wasn't alone this time in the picture misery joy. I got to share the picture time with my cousins, Jennifer's daughters, Sophie and Lily.

I really am not sure what to think of all these people looking at me.

Along with all the wonderful candy, I got to ride some of my favorite rides. Sophie and Lily were willing to take a break from Thunder Mountain to let me ride some of my favorite rides like It's A Small World (it was my 2nd trip around the world), Peter Pan (fortunately for me, a flash-photography free ride), and Pirates of the Caribbean (My parental units were able to snap a picture before I fell fast asleep. I was not happy. See picture below.).

My favorite thing of the night had to be the fireworks. I was so amazed by the different colors, the larges sparkles, and the loud noises. They were quite amazing.
The night was so exciting that Mom and Dad let me stay up waaaaay past my bedtime. I finally gave in and crashed at about 12:30 in the A.M.! (I know, they're horrible parents) That's right, I'm a party (baby) animal. Of course, I got to take little naps in between rides while I was pushed around in my stroller so it was pretty easy to stay up late enough to watch the next day arrive.

In other news, I love sitting up. I love sitting up so much that if my parents don't hold me to help me sit up or even stand up, I whine. I have found that if I whine, it annoys them more them crying. Because I can now hold my head up on my own pretty good, my parents pulled out the Bumbo chair to help me sit and give them a break from helping me out. Now at first I was not so sure about this. Actually I thought they were quite crazy.

Wait. Dad is over there. Mom is taking a picture. I am sitting up. What is going on here? No one is holding me? What exactly are you guys doing to me?
I eventually got used to it. However, I still only like it for a short time, then I want someone to hold me again. I will now leave you with wonderful pictures of me in my Bumbo chair. I know you are intrigued and thrilled. Later.
What exactly is this thing?
I can actually look down at Max now instead of being pretty close to eye level when I sit.
Hey! What are you guys doing over there? You are not supposed to leave me in here by myself.
Oh well. Guess I better stop trying to fight this. I'll just sit here and let her take her pictures. Then I'll whine. I bet she'll get me out if I whine.

Western New York State of Mind

Yo. Parker Scott here!

Whew. What a weekend we have had. We had to travel to Buffalo this past weekend for Uncle Josh and Aunt Kim's wedding. Needless to say, I had a lot of "firsts" this week.

To begin with, this was my first experience with a plane flight. Mom and Dad were nervous I was going to be a screaming baby on the plane. I knew all along it would be a piece of cake. I wasn't worried at all. In fact, I was at such ease, I decided to just blow bubbles the entire time we were waiting for the plane.

Once again, the ever paranoid parent, Mom was afraid I was going to get all my clothes wet, so she made me wear this bib. I think she's crazy. Doesn't she know bibs are for kids that eat actual food?? I just drink milk. I don't need a bib yet, silly.

Me and Dad eating before the plane takes off. Apparently, he doesn't need a bib.
Of course, just like everything else, they were worried about nothing.I was a pro! I was awake for a bit because I had to see what this whole plane thing was about, but I quickly discovered it was quite boring. You sit. for hours. with nothing to do. BORING! I decided sleep was more intriguing than the plane.

When we arrived in Buffalo, I finally got to meet my Uncle Josh. I wasn't quite sure what to think of this man I hear Daddy call "Uncle Perm" (whatever that name means). He swears he is my favorite uncle. Considering he is my only uncle, I'd say that's a pretty safe bet.

I'm not quite sure what I think of him at this point. Really, I'm just hungry and don't care too much about having my picture taken. I'd rather eat.
Friday, we made the drive up to Rochester to prepare for all the wedding festivities. Seeing as how I am a baby, there wasn't much I could do for the wedding other than sit and watch, which was okay since I'm trying to figure out what this whole wedding thing means. Apparently, it's when an adult baby boy and an adult baby girl leave their Mommy and Daddy to live together. Mom says it better be a looooong time before I do that and right now, I agree. That sounds crazy! Why would I want to leave my Mommy and Daddy when they do everything for me!?! Anyway, enough of that.

After the rehearsal, Mom and Dad got to enjoy an amazing meal. Of course, once again, I miss out on all the fun. Luckily, Uncle Perm  Josh came to play with me.
Maybe he's not so bad after all
Thanks to the wedding, I got to spend my first night in a hotel. My Mom says she LOVES sleeping in hotels and now I can see why! They are so cozy!

Finally, the wedding day was upon us. Mom said I looked handsome and quite frankly, I would have to agree!

Unfortunately, my pants kept looking like capris when someone would hold me abd boys shouldn't wear capris. Mom should think about this a little harder next time.
At the reception I got to meet a lot of cool family members. Unfortunately, my Mom, the supposed camera lover, did not get a picture of me with Uncle Josh and Aunt Kim at the wedding. Guess she's not as good as she thinks she is.

Me with my Great-Grandma B, which is short for Baudendistle. That's a bit of a mouthful for me to say right now. Who am I kidding? Everything is a bit of a mouthful for me to say right now.
I also got to meet my Great-Aunt Janet. I think she's funny.
My Great-Uncle Chris, cousin Jessica, and Great-Aunt Diana
My Great-Grandma Smith and cousin Christina
Cousin Christina makes me smile
During the dance, some of Aunt Kim's friends passed around glow sticks. Mom and Dad made me get on the dance floor with one. Mom thought it would be cute. Too bad it looks like a straw.
Despite Mom and Dad's worries, I was an extremely good boy at the wedding and reception (so everyone told me). However, I still can't keep up with the adults yet. I mean, seriously people, I'm just a little baby, and you all stay up way too late. Luckily, my Great-Aunt Debbie was there to help me fall asleep.

The next day was just as eventful as the previous two. First, we had to say goodbye to a lot of family. I was still pretty tired though and my cousin Evan is just so nice, I fell asleep in his arms.

Later that evening, we went to the Anchor Bar, where the chicken wing was invented (the food, not the actual body part of course). Apparently, they are pretty good (pretty much one of Daddy's favorite foods) so I thought I would try one.

Just kiddin'! Of course I didn't eat a chicken wing. Do you know what those things would do to a baby's stomach. Geez! So instead, I just hung out with my Uncle Josh and Aunt Kim.

She liked to touch my hair. A LOT. In fact, a lot of people like to touch my hair. I can't figure out why. Don't they touch their own hair every day?? Mine isn't anything special.
Enough with the pictures already

All of this excitement wore me out! I know I sleep a lot, but this week took up a lot of energy and I pretty much passed out every night!

Overall, it was a good trip. Of course, we had to get some last minute pictures before we left. Unfortunately, Uncle Josh and Aunt Kim couldn't be in the pictures because they had already left for their honeymoon. Yet another silly thing adults apparently do.

Unfortunately, we all left with some pretty yucky stuffy noses and coughs. Another casualty of traveling and running around. Mom says I need to go and catch up on my sleep so I can feel better (though I really think she wants me to sleep so she can feel better). So until next time. Later Peeps.

Teething and the Wonderful Two's (months that is)

Saturday we hit the 2 month mark with little Parker. I know we will probably say this every time we hit a milestone (and we do), but it's so hard to believe it's already been that long since we welcomed him into our family. There have been a lot of changes with the little man and thankfully, with my new job, I am able to see all of them. I keep telling Parker he is stuck with me, day in and day out. He is unimpressed thrilled!

"This is not the most flattering angle. It definitely shows off my milk gut, but what can I say? I'm a good eater. I'm happy."

The time between his 1 month and 2 month birthday started out a bit rocky. The sweet, content baby we brought home began to change into a baby with an ear-piercing scream after developing acid reflux. We spent many hours of many days like this...

While I am not one that jumps on medicating a child, especially a baby, thanks to medicine, we now spend many of our hours like this...

We are so happy to know that the medicine is working and we now have our happy, healthy baby back. It was a very trying and tiring month (I'm sure the first of many). With constant screams of pain and the lack of sleep (on his part and ours) that went with it, we were desperate to make him feel better.

To add to the acid reflux, Parker has also started the teething process. He is a constant spout of drool! The constant wet ring around the neck of his clothes has brought me to the use of bibs. He is not a fussy baby while teething (yet), but has a constant stream of water falling from his lips or covering his hands. The doctor said most babies do not actually break their teeth until around 7-9 months and for our sakes, she "hopes he doesn't teeth for the next 5-7 months." We hope the same thing.

"I LOVE making bubbles with mr drool. I think it's pretty cool. I could do this all day!"
"Mom told me to be a good boy and show off my bib. She said to make sure I hold it where everyone can see it, because it's so cute. Give me a break."
"Mom says that everyone tells me I look like my Dad, but I definitely look like her baby pictures here. Can't I just look like Parker??"

Parker is also talking cooing and smiling A LOT. We have officially turned into the crazy people who talk to a 2 month old and swear he understands us. I guess it happens to the best of us.

It is so amazing to look back, even in the short 2 months he has been on this planet, and see how awesome and wonderful God truly is. How He forms every part of us and makes us just the way we are supposed to be. How He forms a family with just the perfect members that fit together so easily. How He has provided for us in ways so much greater than we could have ever imagined. It's also amazing to look ahead and wonder what plans He continues to have in store for us and knowing that whatever or wherever they may be, He is with us and He has created, from us as individuals, a loving family to share in the journey.
